The relevant standards of Cat8 eight types of network cables were officially released by the TR-43 Committee of the American Communications Industry Association (TIA) in 2016, specifically as follows:
1. It conforms to IEEE 802.3bq 25G / 40 GBASE-T standard, specifies the minimum transmission rate of Cat8, and can support network cabling of 25 Gbps and 40 Gbps.
2. Compliance with ANSI / TIA-568-C.2-1 standard, specifies the channel and permanent link of Cat8 class 8 network cable, and contains resistance imbalance, TCL and ELTCTL restrictions.
3. Comto ANSI / TIA-1152-A standard, and stipulate the measurement and accuracy requirements of Cat8 field tester.
4. Compliance with ISO / IEC-11801 standard, and stipulate the channel and permanent link of class I / II Cat8.
Category 8 categories of network cable
In ISO / IEC-11801 standard, Cat8 network cables are divided into Class I and II according to the channel level. The shielding type of Cat8 is U / FTP and F / UTP, which are backward compatible with RJ 45 connector interface of Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a; the shielding type of Class II Cat8 is F / FTP or S / FTP, which can be backward compatible with TERA or GG 45 connector interface.
The advantages of the Cat class 8 network cable
As mentioned above, Cat8 can share RJ 45 ports, which means Cat8 can easily upgrade the network rate from 1G to 10G, 25G and 40G. In addition, Cat8 is plug-and-play and connects like other categories of network cables, which is very easy to deploy.
At the same time, due to the low cost of network cable, twisted-pair cable has always been the most cost-effective solution in Ethernet, and Cat8 network cable is no exception. Therefore, when deploying 25G / 40 GBASE-T network, eight cable is more cost-effective than fiber jumper when the transmission distance is less than 30 meters, while using Cat8 cable is more cost saving when the transmission distance is less than 5 meters.
The difference between Cat8 eight network cable and super five network cable, six network cable, super six network cable and seven / super seven network cable
At present, there are five types of common network cable in the market: super five types of network cable, six cable, super six cable, seven types of network cable and super seven types of network cable. Cat8 class network cable and seven / super seven network cable, belong to the shielding double pair cable, can be used in data center, high speed and bandwidth dense places, although the transmission distance of Cat8 network cable is not as far as that of seven / super seven network cable, but its rate and frequency is far more than seven / super seven network cable. The difference between Cat8 eight network cable and super five network cable and six / super six network cable is large, mainly reflected in the rate, frequency, transmission distance and application.
Although the application of Cat8 network cable is not extensive, with the increasing requirements of network cabling on transmission performance, it is believed that Cat8 network cable will gradually become the mainstream product of data center integrated wiring system in the future.
