Shenzhen Haidiwei Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. generally needs to carry out professional debugging, testing, code writing and real machine testing for the test steps when producing the Optical module sold. Please refer to the following process flow explanation for details:
1. Debugging
The parameters that need to be debugged in the debugging steps include eye image extinction ratio, Tx power, bit error rate, and Rx power.
(1) Extinction ratio. The extinction ratio refers to the ratio of the optical power P1 emitted by the laser at full “1″ code to the optical power P0 emitted at full “0″ code.
(2) Tx power. Because the output power of the laser is unstable due to the influence of temperature, it is necessary to calibrate the Tx output power of the laser to achieve the goal of reducing the fluctuation of output power with temperature changes.
(3) Error rate. In the detection step of bit error rate, the Optical module receives the optical signal and converts it into an electrical signal to send back to the bit error rate detector. The bit error rate detector can know whether there is a bit error by comparing the signal sent and the signal received. The optical power of the bit error tester is usually set to the highest sensitivity of the optical module to be measured.
2. Detection
Detection is actually a further verification of the parameters debugged in the previous step to prevent some products from not being debugged and calibrated properly.
3. Write code
Code writing generally includes manufacturer information, SN, and other information.
4. Real machine testing
As the name implies, the switch is used to actually test whether the signal transmission is normal.
This is our brief description of the Optical module test steps.
