POE switch technology and advantages introduction

The PoE switch is a switch that supports power supply to the network cable. Compared with the ordinary switch, the power receiving terminal (such as AP, digital camera, etc.) does not need to be wired for power supply, and the reliability of the entire network is higher.
The difference between PoE switches and ordinary switches
PoE switch is different from ordinary switch, PoE switch can not only provide the transmission function of ordinary switch, but also provide power supply function to the other end of the network cable. For example, there is a digital surveillance camera (needs power supply to work normally), but is not connected to a power supply, but connected to a common switch through a network cable. In this case, the camera does not work. If the camera is not connected to the power supply, but its transmission network cable is connected to the PoE switch, the camera can work normally.
PoE is divided into standard and non-standard. The standard one will detect whether the connected network equipment has a PoE power receiving end. If there is, it will be powered, if not, it will not be powered and only provide data transmission. The non-standard ones will be directly supplied with power. If this link is not detected, the equipment may be burnt out.
POE switch technology and advantages
There are two standards for the mainstream PoE switches in the market, IEEE802.3af and 802.3at, which respectively define the power supply power of 15.4W and 30W, but due to the loss in the transmission process, the actual power supply is 12.95W and 25 .5W, rated voltage is DC 48v.
When using a PoE switch that supports the IEEE802.3af standard, the power of the powered device cannot exceed 12.95W; similarly, when using a PoE switch of the IEEE802.3at standard, the power of the powered device cannot exceed 25.5W.
Generally, a PoE switch that supports the IEEE802.3af/at standard at the same time, the power supply is adaptive. For example, if it is connected to a 5W device, it provides 5W of power; if it is connected to a 20W device, then it provides 20W of power.
PoE switches are switches that support power supply to the network cables. Compared with ordinary switches, terminals (such as APs, digital cameras, etc.) do not need to be wired for power supply, and are more reliable for the entire network. The PoE switch can not only provide the transmission function of the ordinary switch, but also provide the power supply function to the other end of the network cable.
The PoE back-end device only needs one network cable, which saves space and can be moved at will (simple and convenient), saving costs.
As long as the PoE switch is connected to the UPS, it can supply power to all the back-end POE-related devices when the power is off. Users can automatically and safely mix original equipment and PoE equipment on the network, and these equipment can coexist with existing Ethernet cables.
